At our studio 1000 Main Street, (10th and Main) in Keokuk, Iowa, we offer several media related services.
You may wonder how we do so many different things and I kind of look at it like we’re a media service department store.
On a personal level in case you’re interested, I started in Photography while in my teens. I really got my feet wet at this by working for the yearbook in High School, I discovered I really really liked this thing, not realizing it was going to take over my life. I remember photographing weddings at that time using a 35 mm and an old 120 roll film camera. I learned then how important capturing those memories was to my “customers” and how easy it just was for me. It was as natural as breathing and while I would later learn there was so much more to the science of it, I was drawn to the ability to interject creativity while interacting with people that otherwise didn’t know I existed which seemed important to me as a teen then.
One of the first things I learned as Photographer for the school yearbook the “Comment” was that I got to skip a lot of classes (excused) to go on field trips with the various groups and clubs and I got to be in the hallways when everyone else was nailed to their chairs in their respective classrooms. I was able to spend hours developing pictures in the darkroom which I still find fascinating and best of all, I didn’t have to pay to get into the football and basketball games.
I thought I was getting in free but looking back I guess I was working so the school got the better deal it turns out.
One things leads to another and at the same time I was getting very interested in music, playing the guitar and getting into recording.
I have also been providing recording studio service to the area for many years as well and our ProTools Digital recording studio is available for area singers, songwriters, bands, hip hop artists, etc.
We have done many many recording projects for area musicians and bands and have a triggered drum set to give your band those big fat drum sounds you hear on modern recordings. With this amazing multi-track system, you can sing or play along with yourself and create many levels of instrumentation or vocals.
We have provided On-Hold recordings for area banks, nursing homes and other businesses. We are also available for voice overs for video production and radio commercials.
After doing still photography for so long, I found it to be of great interest to see the pictures move so video and video production and editing were a natural fit. We primarily use an Avid editing system and also have Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premeire and Sony Vegas editors. We can do projects in Standard Definition and High Definition including Blu Ray and deliver the final product in any format suitable for Disc, Digital and compressed in any format suitable for You Tube or your website. We have received awards and recognition for three different projects we did for the United States Marine Corps, Camp LeJeune, N. Carolina.
I particularly enjoy creating music videos and have recently produced videos for Jake McVey, Allen Frizzell, Shelly Rann and others.
In what has been another natural addition, during the 1990’s, the Internet invaded and creating websites has been increasingly important to practically every other service we offer. One of the service we offer is transferring your old video tapes and films to DVD, or just digitizing them to be used on the web or other digital delivery methods. We also convert those old cassettes to CD’s.
For you dancers and dance studios out there, we can help in cutting your music to fit your routines and can help in making it fit into those 2 or 3 minutes required so you don’t get penalized.
In 2010, we added Large Format Printing. We can now print up to 60″ by unlimted length/width. Full color on Banner Vinyl Material, canvas and adhesive backed vinyl for signage and vehicle and window graphics.
